Cooper Care
Academic Tutorial Program
and
Summer Day Program

Cooper Care is an academic tutorial program provided by the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention in partnership with the Anniston Housing Authority.  Located at 1414 Cooper Avenue in Anniston, the Cooper Care program is available to elementary-aged students grades K-5 who live in the vicinity of Cobb Elementary School.

Throughout the school year, Cooper Care operates as an after-school program where students receive assistance with homework, participate in age-appropriate learning activities and enjoy a healthy snack.  Learning experiences are enhanced by weekly visits to the Anniston Public Library’s Carver Branch.

Cooper Care after-school tutorial program hours are 3:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday throughout the school year.

The Cooper Care program is administered by Kandris Miller, a Certified Elementary Educator who teaches at Cobb Elementary in Anniston.  Mrs. Miller is assisted by Annie Sue Dennis.

Cooper Care also hosts a Summer Day Program during the summer vacation period.  Students who participate in the Summer Program are provided with continued learning experiences, plenty of supervised play-time and physical activity all in a safe, fun, nurturing environment.  Special field trips are offered during the Summer Program, as well as the opportunity to participate in the Anniston Army Depot’s CAMP CONNECTION; a one week program where students from Calhoun and several surrounding counties come together to form new friendships with kids they may never have met otherwise.

Cooper Care Summer Day Program hours are 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday throughout the Summer.
